Director Statement

“The mountains are calling, and I must go.”John Muir

“Into The Mountains” is my 3rd personal experimental short documentary film, after the award winning films “Keep Looking Up” and “Forest of Tranquility”.
“Into The Mountains” is a visual journey through the beautiful mountains of Epirus, Greece.

The idea for this film was formed in my mind while I was filming “Forest of Tranquility” back in 2019.
During that time, I had also spent many days inside the forests and the mountains for filming and during that time, I made a promise to myself that I will create a film dedicated to those beautiful mountains.

I had started working on the preparations of the production at the start of 2020, but then a powerful and unseen enemy, the coronavirus, changed our world and our lives, probably forever.

After almost two years of restrictions, curfews and quarantines, I finally had the chance to travel to my favorite location, into the mountains of Epirus Greece, which I missed so much.

In this film, I tried to capture some natural and beautiful sceneries into the mountains.
Locations that can calm our souls with their simplicity and minimalism, no matter if it has beautiful clear skies or even bad weather.
My goal was also to avoid when possible, to capture anything that it is not created by nature. If I succeeded in this goal, its up to you to decide.

As already said back in 2019, I have to admit that the days I spent into the mountains while filming this project were truly amazing, inspiring and healing for my soul.

Special Thanks

A very big thank you to my supporters: Tokina Global, Hoya Global, Cokin, Slik and Kenko.

With their support and their amazing gear, my mind was only focused on the filming of the project and I didn’t have to worry a bit about any technical issue.
You can find more details about the gear I used on the Gear section below.

Thank you!

Original Music by Dreamstate Logic

What can I say about my very good friend, Colby, better known as Dreamstate Logic!
Except being a great music composer, he is an amazing person that also loves nature and he can compose the ideal music just by watching a few unedited clips.
This is the third time we collaborate, after “Keep Looking Up” and “Forest of “Tranquility” and he once again created the perfect music for “Into The Mountains”!
Thank you so much my friend!!

Personal Thoughts and Thanks

I love being in nature, spending time all alone in the mountains and the forests, either for personal or commercial work.
Usually I’m away from home for many days or even weeks, traveling or wandering in distant locations and I really enjoy it.

But, except being a filmmaker and a landscape photographer, I’m also something more important than any of this.
I’m a parent and a husband, and my family waits for me at home.

None of this could become reality if it wasn’t for my beautiful wife Catherine.
She is my other half, and without her, I don’t know what could I achieve.
She is supporting me in every way, she helps me overcome my creative fears or dead-ends, pushing me at the same time to become a better person and a better creator.

Thank you so much my love!!!

And of course all my love and a very big hug to my two beautiful daughters, Melina and Cleo for not being close to them all these days in the mountains!
I love you girls!!!
